At NNLS, young families are at the heart of our community.

We are proud to offer a warm and engaging environment where babies, toddlers and young families can grow together. Through interactive services, creative activities, and special events, we ensure that even our smallest members feel a sense of belonging. Whether you are looking for meaningful Shabbat experiences, festival celebrations, or simply a space to meet other parents, you will find a welcoming home here.

What's on for young families

PlayShul

PlayShul is our new wonderful weekly baby and toddler zone on Shabbat where our littlest members are warmly invited to relax in the foyer with mats, soft play, toys and books. PlayShul runs from 10.00am - 11.00am in the foyer of NNLS and welcomes all young families to drop in before our toddler and children's services begin.

Toddler Shabbat Services

We run weekly toddler services on Shabbat which are suitable for babies and children up to the age of four. These volunteer led services include lots of songs, stories and movement and all children are encouraged to take part. Toddler Services run from 11.00am - 12.00pm every week and finish with a light Kiddush for the children.

Family Friendly Friday Night

Families with children aged 0-8 are welcome to join Rabbi Zahavit for a special Friday Night Dinner. There will be fun, games and a pot luck dinner. It is a great way to meet other families and if you are considering joining NNLS and have young children, a friendly and gentle way to feel part of our community.

Chicken Soup Sing-A-Long

Join us on Friday mornings from 10.30 - 11.30am for a wonderful Chicken Soup Sing-A-Long with Ilana Banana. You can expect instruments, parachutes, bubbles, fresh challah and your favourite sing-along songs and Shabbat songs too. Bookings can be made by the Happity website.

Chaggim Parties

Our parties to celebrate Jewish festivals have baby and toddler zones including messy play stations, soft play, foam mats, toys and much more. Alongside age appropriate professional entertainment, we map out our events so that babies and toddlers can enjoy events alongside their bigger siblings with ease. Look out for upcoming events in our calendar.

Baby Shabbat

To celebrate the littlest members in our community, we have a special 'Baby Shabbat' every year where familes and little ones (up to 18 months) are invited onto the bimah at the end of the morning service for a special blessing. We invite all of the community to be part of this special moment before having Kiddush. Our next Baby Shabbat is taking place on Saturday 3rd May 2025.

WhatsApp Community

We have a growing NNLS run WhatsApp community for the parents of babies and toddlers. It is a great place to meet other parents, share information and find out more about upcoming events. If you are a member and would like to join, please send us an email at education@nnls-masorti.org.uk.

New Baby Pack

We want to make sure that our newest (and youngest!) members know how special they are and have a wonderful new baby pack that we send out after the birth of a new baby in our community. Please contact us if you would like to receive one or know someone else who would by emailing the office.

Coming soon for young families

NNLS Monday Playgroup

We are launching a new NNLS Playgroup on Monday mornings in Spring 2025. Our group will run from 9.30am - 11am and will be open to members and non-members alike. It will be a relaxed, friendly and informal space for parents and carers to meet and get the week off to a great start with a brilliant selection of toys and activities, light refreshments, songs, stories and more. Details coming very soon!

SEND Families Support Group

If you are a parent or carer with a child who has SEND and would like to connect with other families of children with SEND or simply find out what is available, NNLS is here to support you. Please email us at education@nnls-masorti.org.uk for more information.

Weekly Classes

Do you go to a class that you think would be great to attend at NNLS? Perhaps you run a class and are looking for a new venue?
