TRAINING oPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH
The NNLS Hadracha Course:
The NNLS Hadracha (Youth Leadership) course covers the theoretical and practical aspects of Hadracha and is held on a weeknight evening after school We run a Hadracha course to help our teens grow into confident, capable leaders within our Masorti community. Through a mix of practical leadership training, Jewish learning, and hands-on experience, they develop skills in communication, responsibility, and teamwork while deepening their connection to Jewish values and traditions. The programme gives them a sense of ownership and belonging in the shul, empowering them to take active roles in community life. Ultimately, it nurtures the next generation of engaged, thoughtful, and caring Jewish adults.
Mentor Training:
Starting in January we have our Mentor training. The Mentor Training is open to all children who have had their B. Mitzvah at NNLS and would like to start their leadership journey at NNLS. Mentors teach our B'nei Mitzvah students and support them in learning their prayers in the run up to their Simchah. Through training, reflection, and guided experience, participants learn how to be positive role models, develop empathy and communication skills, and gain confidence in supporting others.

Junior Service training:
We will be offering Training for the Teens in the shul to learn how to run a Juniors service (Years 3-6) on Shabbat. The training comes at no cost and enables our teens to take an active role in Shabbat services. We offer support and resources so that they can easily connect with younger children who look up to them as role models in the community.
HADRACHA OPPORTUNITIES FOR YOUTH
At NNLS we offer many Hadracha opportunities for our Teens. From camps to Kehilatainu we have many roles for teens to take on and expand their Hadracha journeys.
Teens are welcome to apply to work on our Shabbatonim, residentials, Kehilatainu, and Haderech. If you are interested, please reach out to the education department at education@masoti-nnls.org.uk.
Events for youth
Throughout the year we run events for our Teens for both Chagim and regular times.
Teen Beit Midrash
Coming up we have the Teen Beit midrash. Year 8 & 9 are invited to join us at the Teen Beit Midrash.
Led by Rabbis, educators, and exciting guest speakers, we will come together every half term to explore fascinating Jewish texts and grapple with the thought-provoking questions that arise.
Memories will be made. Friendships will be formed. Snacks will be eaten.

Chagim Events:
For many of the Chagim throughout the year we host events for our Teens. Such as the Dinner in the Succah, the Simchat Torah Tisch, and various teen events over the High Holy Days. We’re very excited to run more of these for the Chagim to come and look forward to having as many people as possible attend!
Youth Service:
The young people in the synagogue organise and run a youth service on Friday nights or Saturdays. It gives the teens a chance to enjoy a service with their peers and practice leading prayers, leyning or reading the Haftarah in a friendly environment. If you would like to take part or simply attend, please join the Whatsapp group to receive all announcements. (Whatsapp link). The next service will be a Kabbalat Shabbat on the 7th of November.
