Shul Attendance for Jewish Schools Admissions

Please check the admissions criteria for the school(s) you are applying to very carefully, as each school’s criteria is different.

Welcome to New North London Synagogue!

If you are due to apply to Jewish schools this coming autumn for your child(ren) entering Primary School or Secondary School in September 2022, you will need to confirm Jewish practice as part of your application(s), and one such way of doing so is through synagogue attendance.

  • All schools set their own admissions criteria and their criteria may vary. Please check each school’s admissions criteria to see what you need to do. Most are accepting a mix of evidence of attending in person and/or online synagogue services.
  • You do not need to be a member of NNLS to attend our online services.
  • We run Zoom Kabbalat Shabbat services on Friday afternoons. If you would like to attend, please email the NNLS Office to request to be added to our mailing list, to ensure you receive up to date Zoom details and timings.
  • We will sign off a screenshot of you with your child. We suggest a photo of the service via Zoom instead of Facebook, ensuring that you set your username as your name to allow us to further verify your attendances going forward should there be any queries. You should also then be able to screenshot the service showing yourself in the Zoom window and the date, so that you can tick off the relevant Shabbatot.
  • Because we continue to be restricted on numbers allowed, only NNLS members can attend in-person services at the moment. NNLS members who attend in-person services can collect dockets from the shammashim and children's service leaders, which can be used as evidence of attendance.

Email all your evidence of attendance to the NNLS office.
