Gifts to the Poor (Matanot la’Evyonim)

Ideally organise before Purim day

It would be unthinkable to celebrate without also reaching out to others. Traditionally one gives money which is distributed on Purim itself. It may be better still to donate in advance and this year we have chosen to support a local charity - Foodbank Aid - a charity in Israel - Leket - and Ukraine Emergency Appeals from both World Jewish Relief and Masorti Olami, as well as to continue to donate food to local foodbanks.

Leket Israel

Fulfill your mitzvah of Matanot Le’evyonim with Leket Israel.
Leket Israel will be delivering fresh healthy food to Israelis in need on Purim and Shushan Purim.

Foodbank Aid

Foodbank Aid collects, sorts and
delivers to Food Banks much needed food, toiletries and household items.
They deliver exactly what food banks request, thereby reducing waste.

World Jewish Relief

NNLS is supporting World Jewish Relief's Ukraine Crisis Appeal.

Masorti Olami

Masorti Olami is appealing for our direct help for communities in Ukraine.

Giving to those less fortunate

Please donate food to your local Foodbank or, better still, to Burnt Oak Women’s Group who rely heavily on NNLS food collections. If you don’t know who your local Foodbank Collector is, contact Louise or you can give directly to Burnt Oak Women's Group on Tuesdays between 12 and 1pm or on Wednesdays between 11am and 12pm. Their address is North Road Community Centre, 230 Burnt Oak Broadway, HA8 0AP.
