Jews love Torah, and that relationship with the Torah and its teachings has led to the development of a vast array of images, stories and mystical writings which idealise the Torah, describing Torah as like water which quenches thirst, like mother’s milk which nourishes and many others.  Together with our guest teacher, Dr. Shaiya Rothberg, we will explore the Zohar's approach to the Torah as friend and lover.

Shaiya Rothberg lives with his wife and sons in Jerusalem. He is a teacher of Jewish Thought and a human rights activist. Shaiya holds a PhD in Jewish Thought. He made aliyah in 1988 and served as a soldier and officer in the I.D.F. in the military government of the Gaza strip.
