A conversation with Admiral (Ret) Ami Ayalon, Former Head of the Israeli Security Agency Shin Bet

With the Israeli government set on annexing West Bank territory as early as July 1st – a move with potentially grave consequences for the region’s stability and for the future of the two-state solution of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict – former director of Israel’s Security Agency the Shin Bet, Admiral (ret) Ami Ayalon, will discuss what annexation will mean for Israel’s security.

As a former director of the Israeli Shin Bet, a former commander of Israel's Navy and a former Member of Knesset, Admiral (ret) Ami Ayalon is a leading expert on Israel’s security. Ayalon joins NNLS to discuss how annexation will destabilise the region and undermine the very foundations of Israeli democracy itself.

Retired Admiral, Amihai (Ami) Ayalon is a former Commander of the Israeli navy. He has also served as Director of the Israeli Security Agency (Shin Bet) and as a Knesset member and Cabinet Minister for the Israeli Labour Party. Ayalon is a co-founder of the non-partisan Israeli organisation, Blue White Future, and a member of Commanders for Israel’s Security, a group of over 200 retired IDF generals and their equivalents from the Mossad, Shin Bet, and Israel Police that works to promote a two-state agreement with the Palestinians.
