What does Judaism have to say about sleep?
with Zahavit Shalev
Did you know that there are three different Biblical terms for sleep? Or that the rabbis of the Talmud believed that sleep was “one sixtieth of death”? Do you know why Jewish law encourages us to schluf (nap) on Shabbat afternoons? Or that there is a Jewish prayer service designed to be recited at midnight? Come and hear what I have learned whilst writing my rabbinic dissertation on sleep!
Tuesdays 30th April, 7th and 14th May at 8.15pm
