We are honoured to welcome to NNLS freed hostage, Yocheved Lifshitz, and her daughter Sharone, an advocate for her parents and all the hostages.

Yocheved and Sharone will be in conversation with Rabbi Jonathan Wittenberg, and will be introduced by Adam Wagner and Adam Rose, leading lawyers and tireless advocate for the hostages and their families. The evening will conclude with prayers for the hostages, for Israel and for an end to war and suffering for everyone in the region.

About the Lifschitz Family

Yocheved was freed from captivity in Gaza in October 2023. Her husband Oded was killed in captivity; his body was only returned this March and he was laid to rest at his beloved kibbutz in late February this year.

Yocheved and Oded Lifschitz were founders of Kibbutz Nir Oz, devoting their lives to the kibbutz, where Yocheved taught generations of children and Oded held the roles of farmer, general secretary and treasurer, among many others. He cultivated a remarkable cactus garden which he loved. He was a volunteer with Road to Recovery, and fought all his life for the rights of minorities.

Sharone has lived in London for the last 30 years. She has been a tireless in her advocate for her parents and for all the hostages, speaking frequently and frankly on the BBC on the horrors of October 7 and the evils of Hamas, as well as remaining a calm and consistent voice for understanding and peace.
