Listening for God in Torah and Creation: a Book Launch
Wednesday, 6 December, 2023 • 23 Kislev 5784
8:15 PM - 9:45 PMNew North London Synagogue, 80 East End Road, London N3 2SYRabbi Jonathan Wittenberg, in conversation with Rabbi Shoshana Boyd-Gelfand
‘The essence of Jewish life is not the bland performance of the Torah’s commandments, but rather love of Torah and the way of life to which it is the guide.’
Join Rabbi Jonathan Wittenberg as he launches his new book: an engaging, contemporary, spiritual, social and ethical insight into the Torah, parashah by parashah.
Rooted in decades of devoted immersion in Jewish learning, humanist literature, concern for people at all ages and stages of life, environmental activism and a love of nature, Rabbi Jonathan offers wisdom relevant to Jews, and to those of all other faiths or none.
In these reflections, through his own considerable scholarship, he presents Jewish teaching which will immediately be appreciated by anyone who is concerned about the moral, ethical and spiritual issues of our time.
